The tour begins in Hanko. During the trip to Tammisaari we will inform you of the the history of Hanko and the past of Finland. In Tammisaari we drive along the yacht-ports of the old town. Here you can have a walk in the picturesque milieu of the old fishing resort or do some shopping in the small shops in the centre. After this the tour continues to Pinjainen, one of the oldest ironworks in Finland. The lunch awaits us in a garden restaurant at an old renovated farm with herbs, peacocks and a stable.
Fiskars is probably the most famous village in Finland. In 1999 it had its 350th anniversary and has through great financial efforts and engagement been fully renovated. Here you find one of the first ironworks in Finland (1649) and from this village the multinational company Fiskars has gotten its name. Inside the historical buildings you find interersting diplays and workshops where you have the possibility to watch some of the 90 artists in work and buy art from their expos. The restaurants and cafés are open for a relaxing moment with a cup of coffee or beverages.
After that we drive along smaller roads and get to see the countryside. Finally, we can enrich you with information about the habits and mentality of the Finns.
Back in Hanko we let you off in the centre of town or at the ferry. |
